The country’s first 4-star hotel, obtaining the top prize (1st place in the 4-star category) in the Romanian Top Hotel Awards in 2022. It is the first hotel in the history of Suceava County to win this major distinction.
As a result of the transformation of our hotel into a refugee camp, our action appeared in all the world press, from the Washington Post, BBC, Le Figaro, El Pais, to the most read newspaper in Japan. It is the first time in history that Suceava has appeared on the front page of the New York Times. A photo of Mandachi Hotel was picked up by the most read newspaper in the world.
We were Romania’s largest “private camp” for refugees, housing over 5000 Ukrainians as well as 1,000 dogs and cats.
